Argentina, after their 1-1 draw in the first match against Chile, put on a solid display against Uruguay last night. The Albiceleste marked their first win of the Copa America 2021 as Guido Rodriguez scored the only goal of the match. Rodriguez took his chance well as he was a replacement for the injured Leandro Paredes who is said to be suffering from pain in his ribs.
Oscar Tabarez’s men could not register a single shot on target as Argentina’s defence looked solid. Messi was once again brilliant in his role and Angel Di Maria came off the bench to make life tougher for Uruguay in the second half. With only 4 shots in the whole game, this was one of the most embarrassing of performances from Uruguay, who need to lift up their form quickly hoping for a turn-around.
