CeeDee Lamb put on a Thanksgiving show against the Kansas City Chiefs. Lamb went 7 for 112, with one touchdown and zero drops.

It was a massive step in the right direction for Lamb. Dropped passes have been a cause for concern for him for quite some time. During the Philadelphia Eagles game, he dropped three passes, including a goal-line pass that was destined for a touchdown.

Lamb tried to cover up his mistake by blaming the quarterback, but it was obvious he just couldn’t hang on to the ball. He missed the chance of scoring a touchdown even though he went 4 for 75 yards.

According to Pro Football Reference, Lamb is tied on 7 drops with Christian McCaffrey and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

After the Eagles game, Lamb confessed, “We know the problem. I need to catch the (expletive) ball.

Speaking with the media, head coach Brian Schottenheimer made it clear that they will continue to target CeeDee despite his recent slump in form.

The ball’s gonna keep coming his way — When we start drawing up plays for KC, I’ll give them a heads-up: There’ll be a lot going to 88.

Brian Schottenheimer said (H/T: Heavy.com)

It’s a good thing that the Cowboys did not alter their plan. This worked wonders against the Chiefs. Lamb recorded his fourth 100-yard haul this campaign.

No one can really guard me. It was just me dropping the ball, and I don’t do that often.

Jerry Jones gives his two cents on CeeDee Lamb’s performance against the Chiefs

Lamb missed a few games in the initial phase of the 2025 season due to an injury. Many feared George Pickens would take over as the Cowboys’ main man. Pickens racked up staggering numbers and currently ranks second in receiving yards behind the Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

It did not take long for Lamb to shake off his rust after making his comeback. Lamb has accumulated 744 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns from 9 games.

During Friday’s segment on The 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys owner/general manager, Jerry Jones, revealed,

Boy, we got two No. 1s. And that really is problematic (for opposing defenses).

The Cowboys started as the underdogs despite playing on home turf, where they hadn’t lost to the Chiefs in 50 years. The Chiefs were coming off a win against the high-flying Colts and aimed to add the Cowboys to their list of prey.

Patrick Mahomes threw 4 touchdowns and finished with a 137.45 quarterback rating. However, the Cowboys’ defense sacked him twice, and penalties against them tipped the balance in the home team’s favor.

Meanwhile, Dak Prescott threw for 320 yards, 2 touchdowns to Lamb and Javonte Williams, and 1 interception. The Cowboys won 31-28 and improved to 6-5-1.

The Cowboys became only the fourth team in NFL history to defeat last season’s Super Bowl winners and the beaten finalists in back-to-back games. However, they are the only team to achieve that feat in a shortened week.

The Cowboys have a slim shot at making the playoffs, but a win over the Lions in Detroit could dramatically boost their chances and put other teams on notice.
