Bowling all-rounder Axar Patel is an active Indian cricketer who plays in all three formats of the game. The Gujarat cricketer currently plays for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the 2019 season.

Born in Anand, Axar Patel began his professional cricket journey in 2012. The 27-year-old went on to record a five-wicket haul in his second First-Class game against Delhi in November 2013. Patel was one of the key members of the title-winning India Under-23 side in the 2013 ACC Emerging Teams Cup, where he claimed seven wickets, including a four-fer in the semi-final against UAE.

Axar Patel played his maiden international match in the form of an ODI against Bangladesh on June 15, 2014. He was also picked in the 15-member squad for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and England. He made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in the same year, followed by the Test debut during the recent home series against England in February 2021.

Defending IPL champions Mumbai Indians picked Axar Patel of the 2013 edition, however, he warmed the bench during the whole tournament. In the following year, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) roped him before he joined the Delhi-based franchise for INR 5 crores.
