Speedster Shardul Thakur claimed the big fish Joe Root’s wicket to almost ascertain India’s victory in London. He got out for 36 runs off 78 deliveries on the first ball of the 81st over of the match as the big fish chopped an inside edge onto the stumps. The 30-year-old was the seventh English batter to get out against an exciting bowling attack.

Moreover, India also claimed the scalp of Chris Woakes (18) who was batting well till Umesh Yadav sent him back to the pavilion. Apart from England openers Rory Burns (50) and Haseeb Hameed (63), no batsman from the England team was able to cross the fifty-run mark. The Virat Kohli-led side is now just two wickets away from clinching the triumph.

This win will ensure India a minimum draw in this series with a solitary game to be played at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester from September 10 onwards.
