Team England caused a massacre on the match field as they annihilated the West Indies in their first match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Playing at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, England folded the Caribbean side at an embarrassing score of 55. Adil Rashid caused the most damage as he took a four-wicket haul. England comfortably chased 56 runs in 8.2 overs to score an easy win by six wickets.

Jason Roy ( 2/10): Jason Roy failed to impress as he lost his wicket after adding just 11 runs. The 31-year-old marched back to the pavilion after losing his wicket to Ravi Rampaul.

Dawid Malan ( /10): Dawid Malan didn’t have much to do in the game as he didn’t get a chance to showcase his talent with the willow.

Eoin Morgan(c) ( 7/10): Eoin Morgan was simply brilliant against West Indies as he made good decisions as a skipper. The batter also scored 7 off 7 to help England chase 56 runs.

Jos Buttler ( 9/10): Jos Buttler looked in fine touch with the willow. The batter slammed 24 runs off 22 balls and remained not out till the end.

Jonny Bairstow ( 2/10): Jonny Bairstow will definitely be disappointed with his performance. England had to chase just 56 runs but Bairstow failed to keep his nerves as he lost his wicket after scoring just nine runs.

Liam Livingstone ( 1/10): Liam Livingstone’s outing against West Indies didn’t go as per the plan. The 28-year-old gifted his wicket to the opposition after scoring just one run off two balls.

Moeen Ali ( 7/10): Moeen Ali was fantastic during the first innings as he played a major role in causing a collapse of the opposition batting line-up. Moeen picked up two wickets while bowling at an economy rate of 4.2. However, the all-rounder failed to weave the same magic with the bat as he ended up with just three runs off four balls.

Chris Woakes ( 6/10): Chris Woakes was decent with the ball. The seamer picked one wicket of Evin Lewis while conceding 12 runs in his two overs.

Chris Jordan ( 8/10): Chris Jordan also managed to pick just one wicket of Dwayne Bravo but he was a miser with the ball. The seamer gave away just seven runs in his two overs to put pressure on the opposition batters.

Adil Rashid ( 9.5/10): It was a good day at the office for Adil Rashid as he delivered one of his best performances in the shortest format of the game. Rashid picked as many as four wickets while giving just four runs in his 14 balls.

Tymal Mills ( 9/10): Just like other England bowlers, Tymal Mills also breathed fire with the ball. The Yorkshire-born dismissed Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran while bowling at an economy rate of 4.2.

West Indies

Evin Lewis ( 1/10): The opening batter Evin Lewis was expected to fire with the bat. However, the fans were met with disappointment as the batter could score only six runs.

Lendl Simmons ( 1/10): Just like Lewis, Lendl Simmons also had a torrid outing. The right-hander lost his wicket to Moeen Ali after adding just three runs to the scoreboard.

Chris Gayle ( 3/10): Chris Gayle was the only West Indies player to score in double digits. Gayle was expected to bail his team out of the crisis but he also perished after scoring 13 runs.

Shimron Hetmyer ( 2/10): Shimron Hetmyer’s stay on the crease came to an end with a catch by Eoin Morgan off Moeen Ali. The batter hit two boundaries to score nine runs.

Nicholas Pooran ( 1/10): Nicholas Pooran’s lean patch with the willow continued as the power-hitter walked back after facing nine balls and scoring just one run.

Kieron Pollard(c) ( 2/10): Kieron Pollard also struggled to score just like other West Indies batters. It was Adil Rashid who dismissed the all-rounder at a score of six.

Andre Russell ( 1/10): Andre Russell succumbed to a poor start in the T20 World Cup. The all-rounder got out on a two-ball duck as Adil Rashid uprooted his stumps.

Dwayne Bravo ( 2/10): After a tremendous IPL, Bravo flattened in international cricket. The lower-order batter could score only five runs off five balls.

Akeal Hosein ( 7/10): Akeal Hosein emerged as the silver lining for West Indies in an otherwise embarrassing performance. The spinner picked two wickets in the form of Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone while bowling at an economy rate of 6.

Obed McCoy ( 5/10): There was not much for the bowlers to do and Obed McCoy ended up giving 12 runs in his two overs.

Ravi Rampaul ( 6/10): Ravi Rampaul was decent with the ball as he dismissed England’s opening batter Jason Roy at a score of 11.
