It was under Gambhir’s captaincy that Kolkata won their first cup in 2012 followed by another victory in IPL 2014. However, Gambhir is from Delhi and he bid adieu to the Indian Premier League by playing for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). After leading KKR, Gambhir also led Delhi for s short period of time.

As far as the match between DC and KKR  is concerned, Ashwin tried to pull off a last-over heist by scalping the second wicket in the form of Sunil Narine. However, Rahul Tripathi smashed a maximum on the second last ball of the match to take KKR home.
