Surprisingly, Maxwell didn’t include any of the top Indian players in his fantasy list. The first player in his picks was the world number three bowler in ICC T20I rankings and an ace leg-spinner from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan. The 23-year-old has done exceptionally well in various franchise tournaments across the globe.

“Someone who’ll add anything to any T20 side,” Maxwell said, speaking about his next pick. At number 2, he named the dangerous all-rounder from the West Indies, Andre Russell, who is known for his monstrous power-hitting and decent death bowling. In the international arena, Russell has played 62 T20I matches, scoring 716 runs and scalping 36 wickets.

The ‘Big Show’ of cricket, Glenn Maxwell went with England all-rounder Ben Stokes as his third pick for the best T20I players of all time. The Englishman announced his entry into world cricket in a style as the southpaw achieved plenty of accolades in such a short time in his eventful career.

The 32-year-old ended his list with two former Aussie players in the form of Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Tait. Speaking on Gilchrist’s selection, the all-rounder described him as “one of my favourite players to watch.” One of the finest wicketkeeper-batters in the history of the game, Gilchrist played a total of 102 games, scoring 2622 runs at a strike-rate of 140.28 with three centuries in the 20-over format.

Maxwell concluded the chat while talking about Tait’s name in his list. He said: “Having played against him, I know how quick he was. Even at the back end of his career, he was bowling absolute rockets. I think he’d certainly strike fear into any batter at the other end.”
