Team India started their campaign in Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka with a bang after clinching the maiden game by 38 runs. Vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar emerged as the top performer for his side with an outstanding spell of 3.3-0-19-4. He was also awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

Meanwhile, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal continued with his post-match presentation show ‘Chahal TV’ where he invited the man of the moment Bhuvneswar Kumar. The 31-year-old indulged in a fun interaction with the right-arm speedster.

Bhuvi, who is also popular for playing pranks on his teammates and pulling their legs, was also seen doing something similar here as well. He jokingly told Chahal to make him wait for so long as it was his maiden appearance on his show.

“I am upset with Chahal, as this is my first time on his show. I kept making signs from the dressing room, requesting him to invite me on the show, but he never called me,” said Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who won the POTM earlier in the day for his 4-fer.

Apart from Bhuvi, medium-pace bowler Deepak Chahar also marked his presence on this show hosted by Chahal. Amidst all the light-hearted conversation, the trio also talked about their bowling plans against the island nation. Bhuvi pointed out that everything went as per their ideas that helped them restrict the opponents to a below-par total of 126.

“There was a bit of swing early on. With Sri Lankan batters taking risks early on, there were boundaries. In the middle overs, the focus was on getting as many dot balls as possible, and towards the death, I looked to take the pace off the ball. Things fell in place in terms of execution,” he signed off.

The two sides will now lock horns in the second T20I match on Tuesday at the same ground from 8:00 PM (IST) onwards.
