The wait is finally over as the tentative list of retentions for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is out. As per a recent media report, one of the most successful sides and the defending champions of the tournament, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will continue with MS Dhoni as their skipper in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league.
Notably, MSD has led the ‘Yellow Army’ to four IPL titles and plenty of finals over the years. Moreover, in a recent facilitation ceremony, the 40-year-old had confirmed that he’ll play his 20-over game in Chennai.
“I have always planned my cricket. My last ODI in India was in Ranchi. Hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai. Whether it’s next year or in five years’ time, I don’t know,” Dhoni had said.
Apart from Dhoni, other key players like Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and either Moeen Ali or Sam Curran are likely to be retained by the Chennai-based franchise, as per a story in The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, India’s swashbuckling opening batter KL Rahul, who has reportedly parted ways with Punjab Kings (PBKS), is likely to lead the Lucknow-based side in the upcoming season. The report further stated that the two new teams have begun approaching the top Indian players.
