Former Indian cricketer, Kapil Dev has stated that in his belief, playing any sort of sport or cricket is not that important but instead, the country, the people are more important. This statement from the former World Cup-Winning captain came after Pakistan’s former speedster Shoib Akhter proposed an India Vs Pakistan bilateral series, in order to raise funds for the people who are suffering during this pandemic.
While talking to ANI Kapil said “At this stage, our country is more important. I would like to tell people to stay safe and look after themselves. Let’s listen to the government, they are working very hard.”

Reportedly, the IPL also seems to be very far away right now, talking about it, Dev said, “See cricket is nothing at this point of time, it is not important, right now people and our country are the most important.”
All sporting activities around the world have been cancelled or Postponed. Big tournaments are also at a halt. The 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended till April 14 and the dates for further have not been confirmed for the awaited tournament.
