Team India is in trouble during the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The team needs nothing less than a miracle to qualify for the next stage of the competition. Men in Blue got off to a disastrous start as they lost their first two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand by ten and eight wickets respectively.
The two back-to-back losses have put India’s chances of making it to the knockout stage in jeopardy. Virat Kohli’s side needs to win their next three matches against Afghanistan, Scotland, and Namibia by a good margin. In addition, the Blackcaps need to lose at least one upcoming match.
New Zealand is currently up against Scotland in the league match at the Dubai International Stadium. Scotland is very well aware of India’s need for their victory in the game. Thus, the wicketkeeper-batsman Matt Cross used this fact to motivate his players to do well in the match. When the leg-spinner Chris Greaves came on to bowl against the pair of Martin Guptill and Glenn Phillips, Scotland’s wicketkeeper shouted, “Come on Greaves whole India behind you”
India needs Scotland to win stay alive in T20 World Cup
All the fans heard the statement by Matt due to the stump mic. The same cracked up the fans to no extent and its video has been going viral on social media.
Though India are praying for New Zealand’s loss against Scotland, the Blackcaps produced a good batting effort to inch closer to the victory. Batting first in the match, New Zealand posted 172 runs on the scoreboard. The opening batter Martin Guptill slammed 93 runs off 56 deliveries to take his team to a good total.
