Australia pulled off a heist in Dubai as they stormed into the final of the T20 World Cup 2021. Matthew Wade emerged as the hero for the Aussies as they bounced back to chase down 88 runs in the last 10 overs with half of the team in the dugout. Pakistan who were brilliant throughout the group stage faltered where it mattered.

Put in to bat first, the Men in Green put up a scintillating show with the bat to muster a challenging total of 176. Mohammed Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman notched up half-centuries to help Pakistan to a score of 176. Australia got off to a rough start as they were reeling with a score of 96 for five wickets.

It was the 80 run stand between Matthew Wade and Stoinis which saved the day for Australia. The Aussies needed 22 runs off the last two overs with Wade on strike.

The veteran southpaw was dropped off the third ball of the over by Hasan Ali with 18 more to get. Wade went berserk as he hit three sixes in a row of Shaheen Afridi to finish the game for his side.

The seventh edition of the T20 World Cup will see a new champion being crowned. The 2021 T20 World Cup final is all set to be a trans-Tasmanian affair with New Zealand and Australia fighting for their maiden title. While the Kiwis have the debt of the 2015 World Cup to settle, Australia will be looking to add yet another trophy to their cabinet.
