Ravi Shastri was also the commentator when India was locking horns with England at Edgbaston. The two coutries are playing the rescheduled fifth Test which was postponed in 2021 following Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp. On Day 2, the watchers of that Test saw something magnificent. It was the same Broad who recorded the unwanted most expensive over in T20 World Cup in 2007 when he was destroyed completely by ex-India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj Singh had some verbal fight with Andrew Flintoff and in the flurry of moment something happened which nobody had thought and nobody had anticipated. Yuvraj Singh slammed six sixes in a row in the next over of Stuart Broad.

The record still hasn’t broken by anyone in international cricket. At the commentary box was a stunned Ravi Shastri delivering his comments on the game. Cricket lovers relived the Yuvraj-Broad moment when a similar incident happened at Edgbaston.

It wasn’t Yuvraj who was at the crease but the new Test captain Jasprit Bumrah. When India’s innings was nearing its end, Bumrah entered the crease and slammed 4, 4WD, N6, 4, 4, 4, 6, 1. He broke legendary Brian Lara’s record of most runs scored (28) in an over in Test. Bumrah had scored 29 in an over while five extra runs were from a wide and no-ball.

Stuart Broad has the record of most expensive over in T20 history, how he recorded the most expensive over in Test as well (35) and at the commentary box was Ravi Shastri again.

“What I saw today was absolutely bizzare”- Ravi Shastri

Jasprit Bumrah

Ravi Shastri was heapig praise on Jasprit Bumrah and called that over absolutely bizzare.

“Don’t tell me I was again on the mic when 35 runs were scored. I thought I had seen it all, but not really. 36 from Yuvraj (Singh), 36 I had hit myself and today what I saw was bizarre. It’s something you would have never imagined. A world record from Jasprit Bumrah, batting at No. 10, as captain of India for the first time,” said Shastri in a video posted by BCCI’s Twitter account.

“You feel you’ve seen everything. But you must realize you are still a student in the game. Something will surprise you on another day. What I saw today was something absolutely bizarre. Jasprit Bumrah breaking the world record – getting 29 off his bat in a 35-run over,” he concluded.
