Nicholas Pooran ties the knot with his long-time girlfriend and fiancee Alyssa Miguel

Nicholas Pooran, an explosive batsman from West Indies, married his long-time girlfriend and fiancee Alyssa Miguel on Tuesday. The couple had been seeing each other since 2014 and got engaged in November of last year, following the completion of IPL 2020.

Pooran uploaded a photo of himself and his wife Alyssa on his social media handles. Expressing his joy at being married Pooran captioned the photo as, “Jesus has blessed me with many things in this life. None greater than having you in my life. Welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Pooran.”

Alyssa in return proclaimed her affection for Nicholas Pooran, posting, “Ordained by Jesus Christ. Beyond blessed to marry the love of my life @nicholaspooran.”

As soon as Pooran uploaded his photo on social media, greetings flooded in from all corners of the cricket community, including Pooran’s Indian Premier League (IPL) team Punjab Kings and players around the globe.

“Many congratulations on the start of this beautiful partnership. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness @nicholas_47,” congratulated the PBKS team.

Nicholas Pooran has been a member of Punjab Kings since 2019. He has scored 549 runs at an average of 24.95 in 28 matches. He possesses loads of talent with the bat but had a forgettable IPL 2021 season. He managed to score only 28 runs in six innings and got dismissed for a duck on four occasions.

On the other hand, his performances for West Indies have been exceptional. He has represented them in 28 ODIs, scoring 982 runs at an average of 49.10. Also, he has smashed 392 runs for West Indies in 27 T20Is at an average of around 20.

Pooran will now feature for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League 2021 which starts from 28th August until 19th September.
