Cyclone Tauktae has been causing a lot of damage and threatening to wreak havoc in the states of Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra in India. The first extremely severe storm of 2021, Tauktae originated on May 13 due to a tropical disturbance. It then drifted and became a depression before turning, intensifying and becoming the severe storm.

Tauktae has been causing heavy rainfall and a plethora of flash floods in various states. There have been heavy rains in all the aforementioned states. The storm is expected to cause more damage in Gujarat now as it has now made landfall. A plethora of people have been amplifying calls for help.

Celebrities have also been doing their bit in helping out by using their platforms. In that vein, Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma‘s wife Ritika Sajdeh came up with a very important message amid all the talk about human casualties that animals should also be looked after. She took to her Instagram stories to appeal for people to save the ‘furry friends’.

Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh took to Instagram stories to write a message saying, “Stay home, stay safe! Our furry friends are stuck out there so anyone who sees any animal who needs shelter, please help!” This message comes across as a timely one as animals must also not be ignored amid such natural disasters.

With regard to her husband, Rohit Sharma is set to undergo a hard quarantine in Mumbai before him and the rest of the Indian Test squad travel to England for the final of the World Test Championship (WTC). India will face New Zealand in the summit clash in Southampton and it set to be one of the biggest days in Indian Test cricket history.

After the WTC final, India have a five-match Test series against England and hence, Rohit and the rest of the Indian players will not return home until at least September. The opening batsman would want to carry his good red ball form in the all important tour of England as well to take India to new heights.
