It was down to the young batsman Shahrukh Khan with five runs needed off the last ball. Shahrukh faced the experienced Prateek Jain. And it was the youngster who thrived as he dispatched Jain, Karanataka’s most successful bowler of the game, for a huge six. The young Tamil Nadu batter was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 33 crucial runs off just 15 balls.

Among others, Sai Kishore starred for Tamil Nadu with the ball as he scalped three wickets to cap off a stunning season for him. For Karnataka, KC Cariappa picked up two wickets to go with Jain’s three-wicket haul. But it wasn’t enough at the end of the day for the two-time champions.
