Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has leapt massive praises for young opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad for his brilliant performances in recent years. The Maharashtra cricketer has done exceptionally well in the domestic circuit.

Apart from a dream run for Maharashtra, Gaikwad also won the Orange Cap for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the recently-concluded edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 24-year-old amassed 635 runs in 16 innings, averaging over 45 on the pitches of the UAE.

In a recent media interaction, Gavaskar stated that Gaikwad is a fabulous talent. He further highlighted that he has got the right technique and temperament to play all three formats of the game in future.

“I think he is a fabulous talent. He can serve India in all three formats in the time to come. He has got a range of shots and a great shot selection. He’s got the technique and he has shown the temperament to deal with any kind of pressure. It’s an exciting time to see how he develops as an international cricketer,” Gavaskar said during a show on Sports Today.
