The fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League is currently underway at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The sixth game of the tournament took place between Deccan Gladiators (DG) and Team Abu Dhabi (TAD) where the latter emerged victorious.
However, the match was full of twists and turns till the ultimate ball of the second innings. With five runs needed off one delivery and Danny Briggs on strike, Anwar Ali bowled a slightly shorter delivery. The batter managed to top-edge it towards the fine leg fence where Andre Russell leapt, caught it, and flicked the ball back into play.
But after seeing the replays, it was confirmed that Russell had a foot on the boundary cushion, which resulted in six for the batting team. As a result, Liam Livingstone and Co clinched the game by four wickets while chasing 98 to so far remain unbeaten in the league.

“Nice to be able to get over the line” – Livingstone
In the first innings, DG weren’t able to post big runs on the board but did well at the later stage of the match. However, TAD’s lower-order batters held their nerves to take their team home in a nail-biting finish. On the team’s third consecutive of the tournament, Livingstone said:
“That was nice to be able to get over the line after we were pretty much behind the game when batting. I think Jamie batted well together with Briggs, who did well to hit the last ball for a six to give us the win.”
“We started well and Fidel [Edwards] was brilliant with the new ball. He got some swing, which was perfect for him. Our bowling unit has been brilliant throughout the tournament so far. The boys are doing well and it has been great fun, even more so when a game goes down to the wire. We thought the last ball was a six but then we had to spend an anxious moment waiting for the decision before we could celebrate,” he signed off.
