In the 19th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, New Zealand was up against former champions Pakistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. During the game, the right-hander batter Devon Conway executed some proper freak stuff as he took a stunning catch to dismiss Pakistan’s middle-order batter, Mohammad Hafeez.

The sixth ball of the eleventh over of Pakistan’s batting innings saw Mitchell Santner bowling a delivery to Hafeez. The middle-order batter shuffled to hit the spinner towards the long-off. Hafeez looked in control for the major part of the shot but there was some error at the time of execution.

As a result, Devon Conway, who was standing towards the long-off plucked the ball before it could cross the boundary line. Conway dived towards his left and picked a stunning catch while being in the air. The fielder was completely horizontal while taking the ball and it won’t be wrong to consider this as the catch of the tournament.

Pakistan bowlers deserve all the credit for their scintillating performance. Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowler with four wickets to his name from four overs. Hafeez, Shaheen Afridi, and Imad Wasim had one each under their belt.
