Since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has been suspended, many players have decided to offer their services to other leagues. Faf du Plessis has done the same as he joined the Quetta Gladiators in this year’s edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Tonight the Quetta Gladiators were playing against the Peshawari Zalmi. This match is quite essential for both teams. However, it seems like the fortune is not with the Gladiators. They lost one of their crucial players in the first innings of the match.
Faf du Plessis ruled out of the match!
It is a known fact that the 36-year-old Faf du Plessis always gives his 100% when on the field. He is one of the best fielders in modern-day cricket and can change the tides of the game with his abilities. In this game, du Plessis was trying the same as he dived to save a boundary.
Although he did save that boundary, he collided with his teammate in the process. His teammate’s knee landed on his face, probably causing a concussion.
Initially, it was believed that Faf might need to be hospitalized. But later on, it was confirmed that he is still available in the dugout but, will miss this game.
Hopefully, he won’t be out of action for a long period of time. As of now, Saim Ayub will take his place on the field as a medical replacement.
