Saurabh Tiwary played a crucial knock to lay the foundation of Mumbai Indians (MI) win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match 42 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. However, the left-hander was involved in an unfortunate incident during the 12th over of the second innings as he was hit on the box by Arshdeep Singh‘s throw.
The incident took place when Saurabh Tiwary drove the ball straight back to Arshdeep Singh on the fourth ball of his over. The bowler threw the ball right back at the batter, which hit him straight on the box. Meanwhile, MI’s physio had to rush out to have a check on the left-hander, as he appeared to be in some serious pain.
Singh was quick to apologize and went to check on the Ranchi-born cricketer. On the next delivery, Tiwary responded with an elegant boundary towards the gap between mid-off and extra cover to have the last laugh.
