Afghanistan cricket team handed over a one-sided defeat to Kyle Coetzer-led Scotland during match 5 of the ongoing 2021 T20 World Cup. Moreover, Afghan batter Najibullah Zadran gave another joyful moment to all cricket fans with his mesmerizing knock of 59 runs off just 39 balls.

During his quickfire innings, Zadran smashed 5 fours and 3 massive sixes. In fact, one of his shots was so powerful that it went on to break the glass of the fridge’s door in his team’s dugout. The incident took place on the fifth ball of the 18th over off Mark Watt’s bowling.

Afghan spinners leave Scotland batters clueless

After winning the toss, Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi broke the pattern of chasing as he opted to bat first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday. The opening pair of Hazratullah Zadran (44) and Mohammad Shahzad (22) provided their side with a great start.

They didn’t stop there as other batters also joined the party and Afghanistan posted a mammoth total of 190/4 on the board at the end of their 20 overs. 

In reply, Scottish batters were seen helpless against the quality spin attack of Nabi and his men. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan shared as many as nine wickets amongst them with their respective spells of 4-0-20-5 and 2.2-0-9-4. The former also won the ‘Player of the Match’ award while the Afghans occupied the top spot in the Points Table with an outstanding Net Run Rate of +6.500.
