Meanwhile, India’s fast-bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah caught everyone’s eyeballs by perfectly imitating teammate Ravichandran Ashwin‘s bowling action. This incident took place ahead of the start of the second day’s play when the players were taking the field for the morning session.

Bumrah, who is also India’s vice-captain for the game, was seen mimicking the veteran spinner’s action while skipper KL Rahul and fast bowler Mohammed Shami were having a chat in the background.

Reacting to this, Ashwin couldn’t resist smiling at the other end of the boundary ropes. Here’s the 35-year-old’s reaction:

Notably, this is not the first time that Bumrah has showcased his imitation skills. The right-armer was also seen enacting all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja‘s bowling action in the nets during last year’s T20 World Cup in the UAE.

After bundling out for a low score of 202 in the first innings, the visiting team came back strong with the ball. Rahul and Co claimed all the wickets of SA wickets for just 229 runs owing to a sensational spell from Shardul Thakur. The Mumbai cricketer removed as many as seven batters while giving away just 61 runs in 17.5 overs.

With this, Shardul now holds the record of the best bowling figures by an Indian bowler in and against South Africa. On the other hand, Shami picked up two scalps while Bumrah also ticked the wickets column after dismissing Keshav Maharaj. In the end, the hosts managed to gain a decent lead of 27 runs.
