The Indian cricket team pulled off a stunning victory against England at the Lord’s on Monday. They defeated the hosts by registering a 151-run win after bowling them out for 120 runs in the last innings. The trio of Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ishant Sharma left the England batsmen distraught with their scintillating bowling. There has also been heaps of praise for Siraj, who picked up 4 wickets in the second innings. This was his second 4-wicket haul for Hyderabad bowler in this test.

India’s batting in the second innings took a surprise turn with a commendable partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami. The bowling duo displayed spectacular batting and put up together an 89-run stand against the English pace attack. Mohammad Shami scored his second test fifty, scoring 56 runs off 70 balls. India were leading by 182 runs until Bumrah and Shami turned the course of the game with their brilliant partnership and set the target of 271 to England.

KL Rahul was awarded Man of the Match for his stupendous knock of 129 in the first innings. Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is yet to score an international hundred since 2019. He had scored 42 and 20 in the Lord’s test. However, Virat Kohli added his name to the history books by becoming the third successful test captain by recording 37 wins under his captaincy. He transcended West Indies legend Clive Lloyd’s record of 36 test wins.

India will play their third test on 25th August at Headingley in Leeds.
