Premier League: Crystal Palace vs Burnley Player Ratings Spoils shared at Selhurst with Schlupp the hero 1-1

Crystal Palace vs Burnley Player Ratings: In an entertaining Match played at Selhurst Park, Palace drew to Burnley. Palace started the game brilliantly with an early goal by Schlupp.

Palace dominated the game but Burnley seemed dangerous on the counter with Weghorst. Burnley kept the game alive with some decent chances and was awarded just after halftime with a goal. Tackles started to fly in as both teams looked to find the winning goal. But it ended 1-1 with both teams sharing the spoils.

Crystal Palace

James Butland (GK) (7/10) – Guaita didn’t have much to do and was sturdy and made an excellent save in the first half. He couldn’t do anything for the Burnley goal.

Nathan Clyne  (6.5/10) – Clyne looked shaky from the start. His presence was not giving any confidence to Palace who struggled with him.

Tyrick Mitchell(7.5/10) – Mitchell was solid and ever lively. Passed well and dictated the play from the center brilliantly.  His positioning was impeccable and helped Crystal Palace remain solid.

Marc Guehi(7.5/10) – Guehi made some positive passes into the midfield and played sleekly withholding the ball well and intercepting Newcastle passes.

Joachim Anderson(7.5/10) – Anderson was solid at the back but unfortunately conceded the goal which he couldn’t stop. His form has been excellent and would be beneficial for Palace in the coming games.

Luka Mikivojevic(7/10) – Mikivojevic was good today. His accurate passes controlled the possession and he was the player pulling strings for Palace today. Was unlucky with their own goal.

Michael Olise(8.5/10) – Olise was playing brilliantly in the first half by taking on Brownhill and putting in dangerous crosses from the right to Zaha. Bagged an assist as well.

James McArthur(7.5/10) – McArthur looked sharp from the start and remained calm and composed and made attacking chances which troubled Palace. His presence helped Palace remain undeterred.

J Schlupp(8/10) – Schlupp had an excellent game with some bright chances in between the game which he squandered. He scored a wonderful goal at the start.

Conor Gallagher(7.5/10) – Gallagher seemed lively today and did create many chances including bright moments when he made exciting runs and attempted line-breaking passes.

Wilfried Zaha(9/10) – Zaha was the best player on the pitch. His clever runs were making spaces for his teammates and were troublesome for Burnley.

Substitutions:

Jean Phillip Mateta – Replaced Luka in the 60 minute and did a decent job by performing his duty with rotating the ball well. Got some minutes under his belt.

Wilfried Zaha(8/10) – Replaced Luiz and gave a new life to Bayern with his fresh legs and looked dangerous. Should have started the game with that type of performance.

Burnley

Nick Pope(GK) (8.5/10) – Pope didn’t have much to do and was sturdy and made an excellent save in the first half. Was reliable when called upon and given a masterclass.

Connor Roberts(7.5/10) – Roberts looked solid from the start. His presence gave confidence to Norwich who bossed the defense today alongside Gibson.

James Tarkowski(8/10) – Tarkowski was solid and ever lively. Passed well and dictated the play from the centre  brilliantly.  His positioning was perfect and bossed the defence.

Ben Mee(7.5/10) – Mee made some positive passes into the midfield and played sleekly with holding the ball well and intercepting Palace passes.He was able to control Zaha.

Eric Pieters(8/10) – Pieters was solid in the midfield and was very creative going forward today. His attacking runs, clever in-balls were a constant threat.He also grabbed an assist.His form has been excellent and would be beneficial for Burnley in the coming games.

A Lenon(7.5/10) – Lenon was brilliant today. His sleek and accurate passes helped maintain possession and was lively on the wings . Both the wing backs were brilliant today.

J Cork(7/10) – Cork was playing the number 6 role brilliantly in the first half but dipped in the second half with losing possession and making lazy passes.  Looked bright in the first half but dull afterwards.

James Brownhill(8/10) – Brownhill was the one of the best players for Norwich today with some impressive switch balls and through balls. His passing was intricate and he was the controlling force in the Norwich midfield.

Dwight Mcneil(7/10) – Mcneil had an average game with some bright chances in between the game which he squandered . He was a bit off today but was crucial in linking the Burnley play.

Weghorst(8.5/10) – Weghorst was one the best player on the pitch. After a shaky start, Weghorst was creating multiple problems with his skills,pace and runs.

Jay Rodriguez(8/10) – Rodriguez was decent today with his link up play. His clever runs were making spaces for his teammates which they took brilliantly.

Substitutions:

Charlie Taylor(7.5/10) – Replaced Cork in the 60tg minute and did a decent job by performing his duty with rotating the ball well. Got some minutes under his belt.

Ashley Westwood (7.5/10) – Westwood was electric and linked up well with some wonderful passes .
