CSL likely to be held in June or July: R&F CEO Huang Shenghua

On Sunday, Guangzhou R&F CEO Huang Shenghua said that the 2020 Chinese Super League (CSL) will likely be held at the end of June or at the starting of July.

Previously, The CSL was about to start on 22nd February, but it got cancelled due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus pandemic. However, The Chinese Football Association (CSA) has not declared the exact date for the continuation of the CSL right now.

Huang said, “Based on the assessment of the current situation, the new season will start at the end of June or the beginning of July.”

“If the CSL can begin at this time, its schedule would not be curtailed,” Huang added.

Marouane Fellaini, a former Manchester United midfielder was the first CSL player who tested positive for coronavirus. According to reports, he visited China last month and was forced for 14 days quarantine.

The Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 was originally originated from Wuhan, China. Later on, it got spread all over the world & was declared a pandemic by WHO on March 11th.

24,15,384 people have been tested positive and 1,65,196 people have died globally.
In China, 82,747 people have been affected and 4,632 people died due to the coronavirus outbreak.
