Dan Campbell was so happy that without thinking twice, he gave the match ball away to someone other than Jared Goff. It’s an honest blunder but a mistake nonetheless because the Detroit Lions quarterback had arguably his best-ever game in his NFL career.
Goff completed 18 of 18 passes for 292 yards (155.5 QBR) and 2 touchdowns to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams without turning the ball over even once. Additionally, he set up two touchdowns for Jahmyr Gibbs and one for David Montgomery.
Not only that, to rub the salt in the Seattle Seahawks’ wounds, who came into the game unbeaten, Goff scored a receiving touchdown. For a change, St. Brown found the 29-year-old QB with a brilliant play call from Dan Campbell.
With a career performance such as that, any player deserves to take the match ball home considering the league decided Jared Goff was the man of the match. However, Campbell made a slight miscue and gave the ball to someone else. He didn’t say the name of the player.

Jared Goff spoke about his perfect performance against the Seahawks
The Lions went into the Seahawks game on Monday night as the favorites, even though the Seattle Seahawks were the only three remaining teams with a 100% record after three weeks of football. Bookmakers bet against the Seahawks because they were playing at Ford Field, which has been a fortress for the Lions in the Dan Campbell era.
Yet hardly anyone could have predicted such a lopsided outcome. Jared Goff dominated the team, which had won the fixture for six consecutive games prior to Monday. When the reporters asked the 3x Pro Bowler about a reaction, he revealed he almost had similar results in the week 3 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Goff has now completed 70 passes this season from 106 attempts (66% completion) for 723 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions.
The Lions have an extended break before traveling to Arlington for a fierce rematch against the Dallas Cowboys, which ended in controversial terms last season.
