Nick Diaz making a comeback to the octagon has been doing the rounds in the MMA world. The older Diaz was recently seen at UFC 261 : Usman vs Masvidal, and his recent training pictures and videos suggest that he is ready to compete again. His manager also announced last September that Diaz was ready to compete again and is expected to return to the UFC.
UFC President Dana White caught up with Nick Diaz after UFC 261, and he recently opened up on the meeting with Diaz, in an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN MMA. White claimed that the talks were good, but his only question was how much fire Diaz had in him to fight.
‘We’ll see how it plays out this summer‘ – Dana White on Nick Diaz situation
Dana White told Okamoto, “It went good. My whole thing with Nick Diaz is I just question how bad he really wants to fight. We got together, we had a great conversation, talked about a possible comeback for him, I just don’t know. We’ll see how it plays out this summer and the rest of this year.” [via MMA Junkie]
Nick Diaz’s last fight came way back in 2015, against Anderson Silva at UFC 183 in January. The match was deemed a no-contest after Diaz tested positive for marijuana and Anderson Silva tested positive for drostanolone and androsterone. A series of suspensions and bans slowly saw Diaz fizzle out from the sport of MMA.
And after 6 long years of inactivity, Diaz is expecting to make a comeback. Who do you think Nick Diaz should face? Will he have success if he returns now?
