As the UFC 251 was successful, MMA fans are now waiting Israel Adesanya to defend his title against Paulo Costa. The middle weight championships have been off since the coronavirus pandemic started. The championship was defended at UFC 248 which served has served till now the final PPV for the audience.

But now the fans are keen to see the championship being defended again by Israel Adesanya against Paulo Costa. When asked about the same, UFC President Dana White said that the fight is definitely on their radar but in the long term.

Dana White was speaking with media ahead of the upcoming fight at Fight Island and said, “There’s no holdup, they just haven’t done it yet.” White added that they are currently focusing on Fight Island and nothing else.

“We’re focused on this here, on fight island. I’m not thinking about anything else right now. We’ve got fight island.”, the president added.

UFC is currently focusing on Fight Island and have successfully organised UFC 251 event. The company is now looking forward to organise another 3 fights before moving back to UFC Apex. Dana further added that they have already set the fights for next 3 months.

“We have fights laid out until October, so our schedule’s already made. We’re way ahead of this thing and when it’s time we’ll announce it.”

The duo were supposed to clash at UFC 248 but Costa suffered a setback and pulled out. After Adesanya took Yoel Romero down as he was replaced in place of Costa, Costa tried to jump the barricades as ‘The Last Stylebender’ was taunting him.

Now, after White revealed last week that Middleweight clash will happen, Costa is constantly goading the champion and even asked fir his address and to show up and have a fight.

Given the growing anger and animosity between the two, the fight is definitely going to be interesting. It would be a worth to watch fight.
