The Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) is a two-time champion at the Davis Cup and will be one of the favourites this year given their firepower. The RTF boasts of Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Aslan Karatsev and Karen Khachanov, all in Top-30 of the ATP singles rankings. Evgeny Donskoy is also part of the team that is captained by Shamil Tarpishchev.

Ecuador’s best finish at the Davis Cup came in 1985 when they made it to the quarter-finals. Captained by Raul Viver, the team comprises Emilio Gomez, Roberto Quiroz, Diego Hidalgo, Cayetano March and Gonzalo Escobar in the roster.

Medvedev will take the field for singles while the trio of Rublev Karatsev and Khachanov all can play the doubles event and it will be up to the team captain to decide the players. As for Ecuador, they will surely be the underdogs and will have an uphill task if they hope to defeat the Russians.
