De Bruyne Dazzles in 3-1 win against Wolves
Kevin de Bruyne put in a fantastic display last night against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Manchester City won 3-1 at Molineux despite seven first team players being injured. Wolves beat them twice last season and Guardiola were determined on finally beating them.
De Bruyne’s Performance:
Kevin was essential in winning the penalty and beautifully scored it as well, with Pep hailing his contribution, “He took an incredible penalty, he took it perfectly. Then there is the amount of assists, how he runs. He played really well, like all the team.”
De Bruyne was also instrumental in the other 2 city goals making him the Man of the Match. There was no doubt that the manager would be fan of his performance as well, “Right now he is an incredibly important player for us. He always was, but in the situation we are in right now, it is so important.” “He likes to play football, he doesn’t feel the pressure and likes to compete at a high standard.”
City will be looking to face Bournemouth on Thursday night for the EFL Cup. Pep has promised that the team will mostly consist of academy players.
