The team lost their last game to Los Angeles Clippers. Despite the loss they are 8th in the Eastern Conference. They are barely making it up for the playoffs this season. The major concern for the Hornets franchise is the recent injury for Ball. Melo suffered a hard landing after being fouled. He returned in the second half with a taped wrist. However, he was pulled out in the 4th quarter to exclude him from any further injury.

Melo continued to impress the former Hornet. He said, “He plays bigger than he is, he’s 6’7. He plays like a veteran already. His teammates LOVE playing with him. He always has a smile on his face. He’s always thinking of the next play. He’s not afraid to say, ‘I made a mistake, that’s on me.’ He’s a different breed.” Dell Curry spoke to Rex Chapman pointing out Melo’s major opportunity. Although he is a young player, he has an experience of veteran level. His understanding of the game has pushed him beyond limits.

For the season, LaMelo Ball has been a prodigy at work. He is currently averaging 15 points per game, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. He is the favourite player contending for Rookie of Year title. There is a lot of competition among the players for the playoff this year. Although they are in top 8, they need consistency to continue this.
