Sumit Nagal is the only Indian in the US Open Main draw. He holds a world rank of 127 and set to play the slam amidst the Pandemic. Nagal has declared that the US Open still has lot to offer.

Yet it will not be as similar as other years. Nagal declared it will be different in terms of the situation and ambience. “In my opinion, the situation is a bit weird, it’s not a fun time right now for anyone but you got to do what you got to do”

The 22 year old tennis star from India, will be directly playing the US Open Main draw. He had claimed that it was important for him to travel as he needed the money.

Nagal supported the other players including Rafael Nadal who opted out of the US Open amidst the pandemic. The Grand Slam is not featuring, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer or Nick Kyrgos.

“I understand Rafael Nadal and few other players have opted to stay out but that is their personal choice and you have to respect that,”

Sumit Nagal is the only Indian in the draw. He’ll be carrying the hopes of young Indian Tennis fans looking up to him for inspiration.
