Chelsea are looking to offload left back Marcos Alonso this January transfer window. Spanish club Atletico Madrid are one of the interested parties for the player.
Marcos Alonso came to Chelsea in the 2016/18 season under Italian coach Antonio Conte wherein he won the league in his first season.
Diego Simeone doesn’t comment on Marcos Alonso transfer
Chelsea are ready to sell left back Marcos Alonso and Atletico Madrid are interested in the Spanish international. Alonso is currently left on the sidelines after the introduction of Ben Chilwell to the team.
Since his fight with Frank Lampard after the 3-3 draw against West Bromwich Albion, Marcos Alonso hasn’t even made the bench at the club. Italian international Emerson Palmieri is currently higher than him in the pecking order.
At Spanish club Atletico Madrid as well, Marcos Alonso won’t be the first choice left back with Brazilian Renan Lodi taking up that spot. However one advantage with Marcos Alonso is that he can be played as a wide wing back as well. Bit his defensive capabilities are below average and with Diego Simeone as coach that needs to be strong.
‘I am not talking about what is being said from the outside. I’m thinking about tomorrow’s game.
‘We have a rival who always competes very well, they have not had positive results but they have improved and competed to the maximum in the games they’ve played.’
