ICC’s general manager of the Integrity Unit, Alex Marshall released a statement today about the ban saying, “Having represented Sri Lanka in international cricket, Dilhara had attended a number of anti-corruption education sessions and would have known his actions were a breach of the Code. The severity of the sanction reflects the seriousness of his offences and his continued refusal to cooperate and should serve as a deterrent for anyone considering getting involved in corruption of any kind.”

Dilhara Lokuhettige played a total of 11 matches for his country after making his international debut in 2005. He picked up a total of 8 wickets and scored 101 runs in the matches, playing as a bowling all-rounder.
