Cleveland Browns will breathe a heavy sigh of relief, as they learnt the duration of suspension their newly acquired quarterback, Deshaun Watson will have to undergo in the 2022 NFL season. Watson was accused of sexually harassing 24 different women masseurs during his spell with the Houston Texans.

However, despite the severity of those allegations, the 26-year-old quarterback was initially handed a 5-game suspension without any fine by district attorney Sue L. Robinson earlier this month. The NFL challenged the decision and has finally reached an agreement with Deshaun Watson to hand him an 11-game suspension alongside a $5 million fine.

While an 11-game suspension is better than the initial ruling made by Sue L. Robinson, the purists are still not happy with the settlement, as most of them feel that the quarterback should have been suspended for at least a year. This is especially because of the lengths of punishment the league has awarded for allegations a lot less serious than this, although they cannot be compared on their face value.

Fans have slammed the NFL for not helping those women who had come forward and filed suits against Deshaun Watson get justice. Another theory has also been floated up by many when the news of Deshaun Watson facing an 11-game suspension came to light.

The theory involves the fact that the Cleveland Browns are scheduled to play against the Houston Texans on Week 12, which would mean that the quarterback will play his first match against his former franchise, an occasion which is bound to raise expectations. All in all, despite an increased punishment, the fans are not quite happy with it.
