Divock Origi has faded after his Champions League heroics in the 2018/19 season and has not done much since then. Apart from a crucial goal against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and a brace against Everton in the Premier League, Origi has not contributed much to the team at all. Now Liverpool seek to offload him along with other fringe players in order to sign quality back-up players.

Borussia Dortmund and Real Sociedad interested in a cut-throat deal for the Belgian

Divock Origi’s inconsistency and consistent lack of ambition has both let him and the club down as they couldn’t afford to use him when the main choices were injured

Liverpool will be desperate to offload him and will try to sell him at a price that will not drive suitors away. There are reports that the Belgian will be sold for a fee as less than £12 million. That will be a deal that is not too unattractive for a striker like him as he can contribute more where the standard of competition is less.

Borussia Dortmund and Real Sociedad are really not in need of a new striker as the former has Erling Haaland while the latter has Mikel Oyarzabal. The two of them are very good young strikers, but shoulder the main goalscoring burden for the team. A solid back-up will be satisfying for both clubs and there will be expectations about Origi to do the needful. It will be interesting to see which club will sign the Belgian for a fee like that.
