Djordje Djokovic empathizes on the outcomes of Djokovic’s Adria Tour

The failure of the Adria Tour organized by the Djokovic brothers had the worst imaginable outcome. World No.1 Novak and several participants tested positive for Covid-19 during and after the event.

“This was the worst possible scenario.” the event’s director Djordje told Serbia’s Prva Television. Around 100 people were tested and he was scourge by the news that some of them came back positive. He feels the worst for his childhood friend Borna Coric. He wishes all of them a speedy and painless recovery.

Croatian Coric tested positive on Monday so did Serb Viktor Troicki. Troicki was not a part of the Tour but featured in the first leg staged at Novak Djokovic’s tennis center in Belgrade on June 13 and 14. Djokovic’s fitness coach Marco Panichi and Dimitrov’s coach Christian Groh also tested positive.

Novak, who took the test on Monday after returning to Belgrade has also been tested positive.

Djordje decided to cancel the Zadar final in order to contain the damage. He said, “We wanted to protect every player and fan after learning that Dimitrov tested positive. It was a charity event and all we wanted was to play tennis and give the fans a good show”.

Almost every day 4,000 people attended the Belgrade event and the same turned up for the Zadar event. The third leg which was due in Montenegro on June 27-28 discarded during the Belgrade event. The Montenegrin government made sure of it.

The final leg scheduled for Bosnia’s city Banja Luka on July 3 and 4 is also likely to be suspended. Although, the tour’s organizers are yet to confirm its fate.
