Donald Cerrone is returning to the octagon at UFC Fight Night event this weekend. It has been a crazy couple of weeks for the veteran as he is taking up a short-notice fight after previous opponent Diego Sanchez was released from the UFC roster pertaining to problems between his coach Joshua Fabia and the company.

Cowboy will now be fighting Alex Morono as a replacement for Diego Sanchez. Earlier today, the fighter made his appearance on the pre-fight press conference and was inevitably asked the question of Sanchez-Fabia controversy. And sure enough Donald Cerrone did not shy away from answering the questions. Cowboy believes this is one of the weirdest situations he has experienced as a fighter in his time.

While speaking to the media at UFC Vegas 26 Donald firstly appreciated his opponent Alex Morono for taking up the fight but says he won’t go easy on the kid. “I’ve never seen someone get thrown off because they’re crazy. It’s a first for me. But short notice is short notice. I made a career out of (it). Usually, I’m the guy filling in, not the other way around, so pretty cool Alex threw his hat in and they picked him,” Cowboy Cerrone said.

Donald was then asked about how he felt when Diego Sanchez got pulled off to which he said he isn’t necessarily mad at the fighter. “It’s hard to be mad at him now, because I don’t know if it’s him guiding the horse. I think he is running blind following this new lover,” he said hilariously.

Donald Cerrone didn’t hold back as he began going after his opponent to be Diego Sanchez and his coach. Cowboy also spoke about the ‘death punch’ that Fabia used to brag about and said it doesn’t work. He revealed that a buddy of his “whooped Fabia’s ass” in a bar fight. A reporter asked what Donald thinks about Sanchez saying his coach “tapped” him out in 40 seconds. Cerrone reply to that was nothing short of straight comedy.

“I think your idea of tapped and my idea of tapped is a little different. He definitely got tapped in 40 seconds. Different kind of strokes for different kind of folks,” said Cowboy as he began laughing at his own comments.
