Matchroom Boxing CEO Eddie Hearn is the promoter of both the fighters. He also has another high-voltage clash in the making, between his biggest client Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury. The fight’s negotiations have slowed down due to the pandemic, and Hearn feeling that he has to rush things, has decided to officially announce the fight before or after Saunders vs Alvarez.

‘Next week could be massive’ – Eddie Hearn

Tyson Fury will also be in attendance since he is currently in America, and is also a close friend of Billy Joe Saunders. Speaking in an interview with the Sun, Hearn seemed optimistic about his announcement and revealed that it would be amazing to do so before or after the fight.

Hearn was quoted as saying, “Next week could be massive. Hopefully, we can announce the big one out there as Fury will be there. It would be amazing to announce that before or after the fight as it’s a massive show.”

Will BJS lose his ‘0’?

BJS is coming off a victory against fellow Brit, Martin Murray via. unanimous decision, in December, 2020. He thereby successfully retained his WBO Super-middleweight belt.

Canelo on the other hand is coming off a cake-walk win over a poorly matched opponent in Avni Yildrim. Alvarez took just 3 rounds to finish the Turk and successfully defend his Retained WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring super middleweight titles.
