Erik ten Hag has once again come under pressure after a mediocre start to their season in the Premier League. The Red Devils were at the receiving end of a 3-0 performance by Tottenham Hotspur as Ange Postecoglou‘s men won their fourth straight game in all competitions. After the game, Ten Hag spoke to the press and insisted that he does not fear being sacked by the club.

Spurs fans were seen chanting ‘You’ll be sacked in the morning‘ as their side put three past Manchester United at Old Trafford. Ten Hag however, remained confident of his position as he spoke to the press after the defeat.

No, I’m not thinking about this (getting sacked). We all made the decision to stay together and we’re all on the same page. We need some time to get better.

Erik ten Hag told the press

The Dutchman pointed to the late signing of Manuel Ugarte and other late exits, owing to which the club have been forced to fix their organization. He also pointed to injuries as one of the reasons that his side aren’t performing at optimum level.

After the result, former footballer and pundit Jamie Redknapp said that there’s no way Ten Hag ends up keeping his job after the result.

Ange Postecoglou has high praise for Spurs following massive result against United

After a 3-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League last week, Spurs have picked up their third win of the 2024/25 season. Even though United may use Bruno Fernandes‘ red card as an excuse, Ange Postecoglou felt that the decision was a consequence of the way his team played against the Red Devils. For starters, the Australian has taken the most number of points from United in his first three games against them (7) in PL history.

Postecoglou said that Fernandes’ red was nothing but a consequence of how his side played. The manager said that the enormous pressure Spurs put on them prevented them from getting out of their own half. He also went on to silence the critics as he revealed that he failed to understand how they thought.

I’ve got no idea. There hasn’t been a game this season where we’ve been outplayed or looked all at sea. We just haven’t killed off games like we should have.

Ange Postecoglou said at the press conference

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in 8th position in the League after racking up ten points from their first six games. They play their next game in the PL against Brighton.
