All the new changes and bug fixes
Here are all the changes players will notice in the upcoming Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tails Java Snapshot update patch:
- The update introduced two new damage types, “outside_border” and “generic_kill“. Moreover, Loot tables have been modified to generate deterministic random sequences. The server.properties encoding has been altered. Furthermore, the data command now accepts negative boundaries for string data sources, which are counted from the end of the string.
- The game mechanics have been updated so that players outside the World border now take damage from the new damage type, “outside_border,” instead of the previous damage type, “in_wall.” Additionally, using the /kill command to forcibly remove an entity now results in the use of the “generic_kill” damage type, instead of the previous “out_of_world” damage type.
- To ensure consistency in the production of loot, the game now utilizes named random sequences for loot tables. These sequences generate unique results based on the world seed and sequence ID. This means that when a loot table is run with the same parameters in the same world, it will always produce the same results. Moreover, the random sequence ID to be used for a particular loot table is specified in the new field “random_sequence.”
- Last but not least, the game now reads files in UTF-8 encoding by default, with the previous ISO 8859-1/Latin 1 encoding serving as a backup. Additionally, files are now written with UTF-8 encoding.
