Baldur’s Gate 3 is the much-anticipated RPG from Larian Studios, released 23 years after the second game in the series. It is based on the tabletop board game Dungeons & Dragons and employs a turn-based combat system that perfectly blends strategy and adaptability.

Larian Studios and Alan Wake 2 were tied for first place with eight different nominations across the various categories. The grand success of Baldur’s Gate 3 has surprised many, not because of a lack of quality but because the game is of a genre that generally does not have mass appeal. However, this series edition has attracted diehard and casual fans alike.

This isn’t the only achievement the game has achieved this year. Baldur’s Gate 3 also won Ultimate Game of the Year at the UK’s Golden Joystick Awards and six other categories at the same event.

The game has an incredible 96 rating on Metacritic and over 22 million copies sold across all platforms. There is no doubt that Larian Studios deserves their outstanding achievement at this year’s The Game Awards.
