In a series of tweets, the female hip-hop icon popularly known as Cardi B, expressed her regret in apparently “missing out on a multi-million dollar deal” for a potential collaboration with Call of Duty. Fans must be wondering what it could have been like to see Cardi B in Call of Duty commercials and in-game appearances.

Each year, towards a new Call of Duty release, Activision tends to bring in big names to help promote the game. Fans have seen several live-action commercials this year featuring the likes of Pete Davidson, Steve Aoki, and TimtheTatman. Apparently, Cardi B was supposed to join that roster, but couldn’t make a name for herself in the Call of Duty franchise due to scheduling conflicts.

In several tweets the rapper made last week, Cardi B said she was unable to attend her scheduled shoot date for Call of Duty (COD) because it conflicted with her court date. In her court case, she pleaded guilty to two counts of assault resulting from an incident involving her and two other women who worked at an adult entertainment club.

Her September 15 court appearance coincided with the alleged filming date for COD. It is understood that Activision and Cardi B representatives were unable to change the filming date due to other circumstances. Her tweet about the situation didn’t specify what she was going to do as part of her deal with Activision, but she did have a “multi-million dollar” offer on the table with the publisher.

Cardi B took the time to teach fans a lesson that violence isn’t always the answer, and past events can come back and haunt people. In her case, it hurt millions in her pockets. Recently made-famous rapper Ice Spice was trying to force Activision to reschedule Cardi B’s Call of Duty filming as well, but it looks like even that ship has sailed, at least for now.

In July, Cardi B shot the music video for her single “Hot Sh*t,” wearing a diamond pendant featuring the beloved Call of Duty character “Ghost.” This could have been the start of a bigger collaboration between the rapper and Activision for her role in Call of Duty. Rappers like Snoop Dogg, Gunna, and Cardi B’s husband Offset all lent their images and music to the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Now, Cardi B should look forward to her future opportunities to bring her own image and music to the Call of Duty franchise.
