Dr Disrespect Reacts to the Backlash Against the Midnight Society

Herschel “Guy” Beahm, popularly known as Dr Disrespect, a controversial broadcaster and now game developer, has replied to the outrage to his upcoming game Midnight Society. Dr Disrespect has recently begun work on a whole new game, despite his rise to fame by streaming titles like Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone. Dr Disrespect has promised that this game, dubbed Midnight Society, will cater to hardcore gamers and shooter fans like himself.

Dr Disrespect reverts back to the backlash faced by him

Dr. Disrespect is no stranger to the gaming industry. Beahm worked as the Community Manager at Sledgehammer Games before starting his broadcasting career. He worked on games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare while there, contributing to level design and multiplayer levels. After leaving the game production industry, Beahm began streaming shooters under the alias Dr Disrespect.

Dr Disrespect stated in December 2021 that he and several other former Call of Duty and Halo veterans would be working on a new AAA project called Midnight Society. Apart from the fact that it would be a multiplayer, PvP game, little else is known about the game.

The recent announcement that Midnight Society might contain some integration with nonfungible tokens, or NFTs, has enraged the community, with much of the fury focused at Dr Disrespect.

As a response, according to Win.gg, Dr Disrespect responded in a recent broadcast, promising players that they will not be required to purchase an NFT in order to play Midnight Society, and that the gameplay experience will not be significantly altered if they do. Unfortunately, a large number of other players and observers are sceptical.

Because of how much money they may make (or lose) an investor, NFTs have become a hot topic in the financial world. NFTs, on the other hand, are a hot topic in the gaming world. Many players, like Asmongold, are adamantly opposed to NFTs due to their environmental impact. This is one of the main reasons for the outrage directed against Dr Disrespect and Midnight Society.

Although Dr. Disrespect may still change his mind about NFTs, some players’ perceptions of him have shifted. While he still has a sizable fanbase who will be anxious to buy Midnight Society whenever it is released, any NFT incorporation likely turn off some. It remains to be seen whether they become a part of Midnight Society, no matter how big or tiny.
