Haaland’s card in FIFA 23 looks incredible on paper. FIFA 19’s crossing and header-based Meta favored tall, physical attackers. Besides that, nearly every other FIFA edition favors and benefits shorter, more agile forwards. This is because a agile and smaller attackers can move faster on the pitch in-game and be more sensitive in dribbling to avoid defenders.

At 6 feet 4 inches tall, Haaland is a very tall forward whose physical presence and strength allows him to hold off defenders and score easily. However, this is difficult to reproduce in FIFA 23. This is because large attackers are often ineffective or at least not as effective as other type of attackers in FIFA 23. Agility, balance and dribbling stats are also low for Haaland in FIFA 23, making his movements feel even more clumsy and laborious.

He also has a 3-star skill moves and a weak 3-star weak foot in the new game, which is not very favorable for the Norwegian Forward. All of these factors severely limit his abilities. However, Haaland remains a viable option in FIFA 23 for players who can adapt their playstyle to his strengths and make the most out of what is certainly a beast player in real life.
