G2 Esports CEO faces community backlash!

Prominent European eSports organization G2 Esports known for having one of the best League of Legends team in the world is facing tremendous criticism from the gaming community after the organization’s CEO was found hanging out with Andrew Tate.

Emory Andrew Tate III became famous overnight on the internet for all the wrong reasons. While Tate is a former professional kickboxer, he sprung up to popularity following his controversial takes on women and misogynistic attitude on some popular shows.

G2 Esports CEO partying with Andrew Tate leaves the internet baffled

The infamous Andrew Tate was banned from all the major social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. While Twitch was yet to impose a ban on his channel, he took it upon himself to delete his channel. As in late August that he issued a final message before his influence vanished from internet.

Even though he had disappeared, people remembered the accusations made on him which led to people being surprised when they saw the former kickboxer being included in a party of G2 Esports CEO and owner Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago. The celebratory video was uploaded on Twitter which claimed that the CEO was celebrating their win at the world championship.

The short video consisted of the Tate brothers and some other members of the team partying with the organization’s owner. it was enough to grab attention from the web heads who were quite shocked to see that the organization which recently introduced an all female roster was partying with an anti-feminist person.

Several users accused him for having double standards whereas the Vice President of Communications of Misfits, Becca Henry stated that Andrew Tate should be kept out of eSports. She also explained that where the eSports ecosystem is trying to get better eventually, this feels like a backwards step.

How did the G2 Esports CEO react?

Contrary to the reaction that was expected from him, Carlos seemed quite unapologetic regarding the video. He took to Twitter to explain that nobody has the right to choose the friends he should make and the people he should party with.

"Nobody will ever be able to police my friendships. I draw my line here, I party with whoever the fuck I want."

The tweet received a huge backlash again from the users including Ashley Kang, the Co-founder of Korizon Esports who claimed that even though people can’t police one’s friendship, they are allowed to talk badly about it. With multiple users being disgusted by the move made by the CEO, it seems that G2 Esports might be under fire.
