Genshin Impact uploads an old fanart of Kamisato Ayato, removes it shortly

HoYoLab users might have noticed something unusual today as the official account of MiHoYo’s Genshin Impact uploaded an old fanart of Kamisato Ayato on the platform. However, the post was removed immediately before fans could ask for the context.

The developers of the globally famous role playing game have been providing the players with a sneak peek for the upcoming characters such as Kamisato Ayato, the head of Kamisato clan. They recently unveiled the 5 star character’s face before releasing the special program for 2.5 update which spread like wildfire. However, a recent post on HoYoLAB has left the community scratching their heads.

Genshin Impact posts a fanart of Kamisato Ayato

As we move closer towards the beta release of Genshin Impact 2.6 update, fans have been getting pumped up to get more leaks regarding the gameplay of Ayato. As of now, some leaks have only revealed a part of his Hydro abilities in his Elemental skill and Burst damage.

Prior to the character’s official revelation, Genshin Impact community made several fanarts to get a subtle idea about the character who was believed to have long white hair just like her younger sister, Ayaka who is a playable Cryo character in the game. An old fanart posted by a Chinese player on Bilibili was recently uploaded by MiHoYo on the HoYoLAB platform.

Several fake pictures of Ayato had kept the community engaged when the officials decided to keep his face hidden for a certain period of time. However, the same fanart posted by the officials without any caption raised the eyebrows of many fans. Where some Travelers are considering it to be a minor mistake, others believe that the developers might actually be trolling the fans.

While the real reason remains unknown, it should be mentioned here that the post was immediately taken down by the developers. Few days ago, the Russian server of Genshin Impact posted a story promotional video, only to take it down immediately. Some screenshots from the video were already leaked and fans believed it to be drip marketing.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that the fan art is very different from the original face of the character. Kamisato Ayato is scheduled to be the first banner of 2.6 update, therefore, he is expected to become playable on March 30,2022.
