In Genshin Impact, Istaroth is indeed the god of winds and time. She is largely revered in the newly added Enkanomiya region, but she has also played an important influence in other areas such as Inazuma and Mondstadt.

Kairos is another name for Istaroth, which is a Greek term that means ‘right time.’ Because Lawrence Clan tainted Mondstadt’s historical records, there is a scarcity of information about her.

1) Kairos’ real name is Istaroth

In Genshin Impact, each Archon has a real identity and an alias. The Anemo Archon Barbatos as well as the Geo Archon Morax, for example, go by the identities Venti and Zhongli.

Likewise, Kairos is the moniker of Istaroth, the god of time. Tokoyo Ookami, Undying Breeze, and the God of Days are some of her other titles.

2) Aberaku’s teacher is Istaroth

Aberaku no Mikoto appears in Enkanomiya as an afterimage. He is said to have built the Dainichi Mikoshi, the region’s artificial sun.

The Dainichi Mikoshi is indeed the primary device that protects Enkanomiya from the Bathysmal Vishaps’ wrath. Istaroth, it turns out, taught them how to construct the sun.

3) In Mondstadt, Istaroth was revered

The Temple of the Thousand Winds in Mondstadt was most probably erected to honour Istaroth. It’s also probable that it was once known as the ‘Temple of the Thousand Winds in Time.’ In his notes, Henry Morton, an NPC in the area, reveals that the temple was built to honour gods Venti and Istaroth.

4) Prior to the Sun and the Moon

The book ‘Before the Sun and Moon’ is often regarded as the best source of knowledge on Kairos. According to the text, she is one of The Primordial One’s four shadows. The Primordial One is the first species that have ever existed in Teyvat.

The Primordial One identified 4 different versions of itself to rule Teyvat. In Genshin Impact, this is a synopsis of what we know about Kairos. Paimon is Kairos, according to several fan ideas, however, it is too soon to trust in such claims without more evidence. With version 2.6, players can expect greater clarity as the tale unfolds.
