Tencent had announced a set of criteria for the winner of BGMI India Series 2021 that must be met before traveling to Dubai for the finals of PMGC 2021 as the tournament was informed to be a semi-LAN event. Skylightz Gaming, the champions and TSM and Team XO who finished second and third respectively reportedly failed to meet the criteria.

As PMGC 2021 was going to be a semi-LAN event, Tencent had confirmed with some organizations that a few teams will be flown to Dubai and the finals would be played there. The criteria for a team to play the finals in Dubai is mentioned below:

  • To have a valid passport
  • To be double vaccinated
  • To not be tested positive for COVID

Skylightz Gaming failed to meet these travel requirements as two players from the team, namely Gamlaboyy and Pukar did not meet the requirements of having a valid passport. Ocean Sharma, the content creator for Skylightz Gaming also confirmed on his Instagram channel that GodLike Esports is going to play at PMGC 2021 Grand Finals as the rest of the teams also did not meet the required criteria.

GodLike Esports has been facing backlash from the community, which prompted Abhijeet “Ghatak” Andhare to reveal that it was actually the fault of management for not arranging the passports within time. Moreover, GodLike Esports has a history of traveling internationally, therefore, the officials decided to select them.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 Grand Finals will take place from 21st January to 23rd January. A total of 16 teams are going to participate in the most prestigious tournament of PUBG Mobile. It would be intriguing to see the former TSM Entity players back at the international competition.
